My First Experience As A 'Delivery Girl'

Today, I was assigned to deliver three boxes of things to Osram and another box of things to Action First. I was quite looking forward to deliver the things to Osram as it was my first time to enter a factory.

Ok here my stories goes.

I left the office around 11.35am for Osram. I was told by my colleagues that the Osram which I first saw after the turning into Phase 1 Industrial Zone was the Osram that I'm going to deliver the goods. However, when I reached there, I registered at the guard house and enter the receiving post, there was an Indian guy, who called his colleagues to confirm about my delivery.

Guess what? I went to the wrong Osram factory! The one I'm suppose to go to is Osram PEN 1 and the one I'm in was PEN5! Oh my I had to walk out from the factory and headed to the Osram PEN 1. Before I left I asked for the direction to Osram PEN 1 from him and the guard in the guard house.

Then, I had to carry back the goods into my car and drive to Osram PEN 1. I was told there was a junction turn into a road after Robert Bosch factory and I will see the guard house of Osram PEN1 but when I past Robert Bosch factory I didn't see any road but just an opening gate. Then, I past the gate and came to another junction and I turned, then I saw two Osram buildings. I was full with hope that this time one of the buildings will be the Osram PEN 1.

It was hard to find a parking space so finally I got my car parked at the end of the road. I carried the goods and started walking to one of the buildings. I saw a man standing outside one of the Osram building then I asked him which of the bulding is Osram PEN 1. Then he told me that the one he was standing outside was Osram PEN 3. What? PEN 3? That time I felt like banging myself on the wall. I had walked so far with the two bags of things and carried a hope that one of the building will be the right one. Then, he told me as what the guard and the Indian guy told me earlier regarding the direction to Osram PEN1.

I drove there, finally I managed to find it but sadly there was no parking space so I stopped my car in front of the guard house. The guard walked out from the guard house, I told him that I to was told to come here to deliver this stuff and he told me to come back after 1pm because
it was lunch time and after 1pm only he can let me in and after 2pm the counter will be closed.
So I only got an hour time to enter the site after 1pm. It was 12.30pm, so I went for my lunch and returned to Osram PEN1 to deliver these stuff again.

After lunch, I went back to Osram PEN 1. This time I was entertained by another guard. He told me that the receiving post was on the other side which was the one I went to earlier (near Osram PEN 3). I was quite frustrated that time because I had waste a lot of time just for one delivery and the delivery seems like a hide and seek game for me.

I headed back to the Osram PEN3 again then as usual there were no parking space and this time I parked further down than the place I parked just now. I walked to the other Osram building and at the guard house I asked the guard to confirm whether I'm in the right place. At last I'm in the right place and I registered and obtained a pass to get in. As this was my first time, I do not know where is the receiving post so I walked straight to the main entrance which was the lobby and there was a receptionist sitting there. I told the receptionist that I which company I'm from and I'm here to deliver this stuff. Then, she gave one kind of look like I'm not welcome here at all. The first thing came out from her mouth was "Then, why are you here?" Then I repeated what I said just now. Then, she said, " You should not come here" Then I asked her how to get to the receiving post and she said she do not know how to get there and insists that I go to the guard house to ask the guard and I said, "Oh so you also don't know how to get there?"
Then she insisted that I go out to ask the guard. "Fine, I leave this place", I told myself.

She was so rude, as a receptionist she should not talk like that to anyone. I was so angry until I felt like giving her a tight slap on her face! Who she think she is? The owner of the Osram factory? Luckily she did not wear any name tag that time if not I will surely report her and complain about her bad attitude towards customer! She was not busy also that time when I step into the lobby and is it that hard to speak politely to people? Furthermore, she is a receptionist and her job is to assist people. She really gave me a bad impression and if she does not change this attitude she is going to give a bad reputation to the Osram factory.

I walked to the guard house and asked for directions to the receiving post. Then, when I reached the receiving post, I passed the stuff to an Indian guy and he served me with a smile on the face not like the receptionist. After the Indian guy had signed and chopped, I had delivered my first delivery of the day which took me for so many hours.

Then, I headed to my next destination which was Action First in Sunway Tunas. The delivery to First Action Services was much more easier than Osram. Then, I went to Letromax to collect something from them and headed back to the office.

It was quite a tiring day for me but overall it was still a good experience for me except for the rude receptionist. That is all about my first experience as a 'delivery girl'. Hope you enjoy reading it :-)
